Maitreyi Sahu is a postdoctoral research fellow with PORTAL. Her research interest is in how market structures and delivery mechanisms shape access to medicines and therapeutic value across the US and globally, applying quantitative methods from health economics, epidemiology, and data science to large-scale datasets for both prediction and causal inference.
Maitreyi received her PhD in Health Metrics Sciences from the University of Washington, where she examined inequities in medication access using insurance claims and spatial data. She has also evaluated innovative models for HIV treatment delivery and worked on infectious disease programs in more than ten countries, including roles based in Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Switzerland.
